This is a question which I have asked not only myself but dozens of people around. And this question really comes to haunt me on a day when I am fasting...two days without food or drinks..and all of a udden God's creations begin to feel drowsy, exhausted and totally ready to sccumb.
How important in basic food for us? Food for survival or the energy it provides us to run our daily lives. Come to think of it, we eat three times a day and chew in between meals. All this making inroads into our system and generating some energy and loads of waste.
There was a great buddhist monk who never thought about food. He ate if someone offered him food and fasted if no one did. We do need to eat to live but we shouldn't live to eat.
ReplyDeletea monk...but can we follow such pursuit?
DeleteMonks are men who tried. If we try we might not get as far as them but we can get at least halfway. And that's good enough. Eat. Enjoy food. Enjoy cooking. But don't live to eat.
Deletesurely, eat for survival and live not survive...
ReplyDeletebest way out...
