Letter to self

Hello Ahim

How are you doing? How has life been treating you? Are you happy?How are your family members and your friends? Are they treating you well?
How are your hobbies progressing? Are you learning something new? Are you engaging yourself in things which bring you joy?Are you picking a new skill?
Do you spend time with your loved ones? Do you spend time with yourself? Do you introspect on where you stand and where you are going? Ahim, do you live life or is the life just running past with you chasing the little threads from its garment? Darling, is the innocence and inquisitiveness which distinguished you and which lit up every aspect of your life still there or has it been reduced to the rubble? Ahim, I know how many dreams you had- are you working towards fulfilling them? Is the motive of life still clear or has it accumlated the dust of greed on it?
Ahim, when was the last time you laughed your guts out and didn't care if you looked like a fool? The question is what happened to the fledgling dreams of yours- have they grown up and solid or have they withered and not stood the test of time?

God's dearest daughter- I await your answers.

JOY TO TIME!!!

The purpose of life- Joy, laughter and comforts- doesn't this potpuri make sense?


Joy should increase along with the time span sent on this earth. However, the contrary meets the eye. I want a big house, a nice car, holidays, a pet, a beautiful family, sexy figure, great friends, expensive jewellery and the time of my life...oh! wait a sec...the satire is that in order to have all the above I don't have time in my life. Without trying to sound like a crony, hackneyed Aunt pondering over years of her life- I want to simply hold on it, take a plunge and then open my wings to fly(now, without sounding like a disney princess).
The equation is simple with LIFE on one side and joy on the other with peace as the denominator. However, like all equations, there are derivations. The days of chores add on and as the serach for benign happiness becomes never ending and then the motive gets lost in the rubble of the day's work- laughter becomes a rare sighting and all but one little heart beat pursues joy. While all seems a perfect setting- while life raises questions to be smothered in the womb by a ambitions- while all the havoc resides peacefully in the mind....Life is just fine. I am ok, I am good but I need to be better....want to feel each pulse and experience the rush of blood.

 

Do we live to eat or eat to live???

This is a question which I have asked not only myself but dozens of people around. And this question really comes to haunt me on a day when I am fasting...two days without food or drinks..and all of a udden God's creations begin to feel drowsy, exhausted and totally ready to sccumb.
How important in basic food for us?  Food for survival or the energy it provides us to run our daily lives. Come to think of it, we eat three times a day and chew in between meals. All this making inroads into our system and generating some energy and loads of waste.
 

A toast to courage

Courage, a term associated with battle fields and warzones, is a underlying function of daily existence. Weather we realize it or not, courage to stand up against injustice, fight for what is right and the courage to do what the heart wills is something that we require everyday. It may not sound as poetic as air under my wings but it is surely the salt of your bland food.
